I didn’t want to post this. I really didn’t. But my friend Jake disappeared five nights ago after weeks of telling me something was watching him from an abandoned house across the street. If anyone here has experienced anything similar—especially around Springfield, Illinois—I need to know.

Let me explain.

Jake’s First Message – Three Weeks Ago

Jake and I have been friends since high school. He moved into a small house on the outskirts of town a few years back—quiet street, just woods and empty lots around. About three weeks ago, I got a weird DM from him:

“Dude, ever seen someone standing on a roof at 2 AM? Not moving. Just staring straight up?”

He swore someone was appearing on top of a condemned house across the street every single night, right at 2:00 AM. No movement. No noise. Just… standing there like a statue.

I laughed it off. Told him it was probably a prank. He didn’t think so.

He Sent Me Footage

Jake set up a camera. Every night, the footage showed a blurry figure. No details—just enough to be disturbing. I asked if he called the cops. He did. They checked the place. Nothing.

Then he said something that made my stomach drop:

“Last night, he wasn’t on that roof. He was on the neighbor’s garage.”

He Described the Eyes

About a week ago, Jake sent a voice message I wish I never opened. He sounded like he was shaking.

The sheriff’s office is investigating it as a “voluntary disappearance.”
